Why a Points and Miles Website dedicated to Texas Travelers?

There are a lot of great blogs about points and miles travel where you can get tips, tricks, inspiration or more about how to best use points and miles to meet your travel goals cheaply or even for free.

BUT…there is one huge problem with these sites in our opinion. They don’t cater to Texas travelers. Sure, a cheap flight or insane points deal to fly from New York to Paris is interesting to me, but as a Texas based traveler I have to get to New York first (positioning flight). That might be fine. But, if you do some extra digging you might travel deals that are just as compelling from your home airport. Dallas, Houston and Austin all have multiple non-stop and multi-stop options to Europe. If you live in Dallas, Houston or Austin, which is more valuable to you – tips and alerts about getting cheap flights from Minnesota to Paris or from Dallas to Paris, Houston to Paris or Austin to Paris?

There are over 30 million people living in Texas as of 2022. In 2021, there were almost 74 million “enplanements” counted across all of Texas’s airports. An enplanement is the FAA’s fancy way of saying a paying passenger got on a plane. That number has most certainly increased since then.

So, 30 million people. And 74 million + passengers flying into or out of the Great state of Texas.

Plus, Texas is HUGE. Depending on where you live and where you are trying to go, it can take you 8 hours if driving (or more) just to get out of Texas. That means flying is often waaaaaaaay better than driving for Texans looking to get out of state. Or, in many cases, just to get from one city in Texas to another.

Isn’t it time we had a points and miles travel site, service and community that was hyper focused on the needs of folks flying from or to Texas on a regular basis ?
